NY 22B
New York State Route 22B is a short north-south New York State Route located within Clinton County. Its northern terminus is located at a junction with NY 3 in the hamlet of Morrisonville, near Clinton County Airport. Its southern terminus is located at a junction with NY 22 in the hamlet of Peru. It was assigned as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York. Route description NY 22B begins at NY 22 in Peru, just north of a bridge over the Little Ausable River. It briefly runs west until it reaches the grounds of the Peru Central School District building, and makes a sharp curve to the north at the intersection of Clinton County Route 37 (CR 37; River Road), replacing the trajectory of CR 39 (Jarvis Road). Peru is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) within the town of Peru in Clinton County in the U.S. state of New York. The population of the CDP was 1,591 at the 2010 census, out of a population of 6,998 in the town as a whole. Geography The hamlet of Peru is located east of the geographic center of the town of Peru, at (44.579556, -73.530539). It is situated on the Little Ausable River, which flows east to Lake Champlain. Plattsburgh ( moh, Tsi ietsénhtha) is a city in, and the seat of, Clinton County, New York, United States, situated on the north-western shore of Lake Champlain. Saranac River
Saranac River ( moh, Tsi ietsénhtha) is an river in the U.S. state of New York. In its upper reaches is a region of mostly flat water and lakes. The river has more than three dozen source lakes and ponds north of Upper Saranac Lake; the highest is Mountain Pond on Long Pond Mountain. In the last third of its length it drops two-thirds of its total drop, and is known for having navigable rapids, which make it a popular site for whitewater kayaking and canoeing. Plattsburgh International Airport
Plattsburgh International Airport is a county public-use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) south of the central business district of the city of Plattsburgh, within the Town of Plattsburgh in Clinton County, New York, United States. About 85 percent of the airport's passengers in 2013 were Canadians, mostly from Montreal. The airport is located at the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base and has been owned by Clinton County since 2002. The old base is still being redeveloped by Plattsburgh Airbase Redevelopment Corporation, established in 1995 after the airbase closed. The airport's massive facilities have been upgraded to civilian aviation standards and the county fully transitioned here from Clinton County Airport as of June 2007.
